Julie McLaren

CEO / Owner

Hi- it's me - Julie. I lived in Vancouver Washington most of my life. I was fortunate enough to attend and graduate from Washington State University in Pullman Washington and then become an elementary school teacher. After a number of years, I bought a flower store and became a certified Florist plus a Designer. I love the outdoors and especially plants and trees, so I became certified as a Washington State Master Gardener. Later in my career chain of life, I became an office manager at our family moving and storage company, where I retired from in 2015. When I am not working for a client, you can find me playing pickle ball, attending a classic car show with my Purple Prowler or perhaps kayaking. I love my life in Florida.

President / Owner

After high school I attended and graduated from Portland Community College with a degree in Marketing. I was involved in the moving industry over 40 years and became an owner of a small moving firm in 1983. I retired in 2015 and moved here, to Venice Florida, with my wife of more than 35 years. I pride myself in the fact that I was a member in the Vancouver Chamber of Commerce for over 28 years, I volunteered on the Sheriff Advisory Board for 3 years, and I was involved with Rotary International for more than 27 years. I am glad I ended up moving to Venice Florida - it is an awesome community.

A lot of people ask, what kind of dog are you? My parents, tell them, "she is an English Cream Golden Retriever and she is so sweet". I have been in the family since I was adopted at 3 months, in fact, my birthday is December 8. I have been fortunate to travel around the US plus some of western Canada in our motor home - I love those trips - always somewhere new when we stop the rig. Besides that, I am rather lucky, my parents allow me to have many different furry friends over to play and stay the night, week and sometimes even a month - we play all day and wrestle a lot. My # 1 favorite place to run, play catch and swim is at the Brohard Beach Park. My # 2 favorite place is going out with my parents to some of the "dog friendly" restaurants in town (Old Salty Dog, Skillets, Burgundy Square Cafe, Blu Island Bistro are some of my favorites). And my # 3 favorite is just taking walks with either of my parents at Shamrock Park, where I have a few Tortoise friends I see there regularly. On a recent visit there I saw two baby owls. You know, even though it can get really hot here in Florida, my parents have made a fun life for me, here in Venice. I feel fortunate.
